Event: 'Smart Energy' - What should it mean for communities and consumers?
Presenter: Nicholas Gubbins, Chief Executive, Community Energy Scotland.
Date: Monday, 23 October 2017
Where: Wheatley Academy, Wheatley House, 150 Ingram Street, Glasgow.
Details: Nicholas will cover how the UK energy system is changing, driven partly by emission-reduction targets and the growth of renewable energy generation, but also by tech developments and the increasing recognition that demand management and energy storage can be as important as ensuring security of supply. Energy companies, tech developers and investors are planning how to take advantage of these changes, but are consumers? And what should be the role of community institutions in trying to ensure the potential benefits for consumers?
