How do I apply?
There are different ways to apply for a home with Barony depending on where you want to live.
We aim to provide affordable and secure accommodation to those in housing need.
Applications for housing are open to people aged 16 and over. Anyone over the age of 60 may also apply for sheltered housing.
You don't need to have a local connection to the area in order to qualify for housing and we don't take into account ownership of property or income.
Check out the sections below to find out more about applying for homes in Barony communities.
Update: Letting services begin in phases
As government restrictions gradually ease, we are beginning to re-introduce our services in phases, where it is safe to do so.
We are now advertising a number of homes for groups of people who have the highest need for social housing.
If you are registered for MyHousing, this means you can now search for and note your interest in homes which:
- have Livingwell services and are designed for older people;
- have been specially adapted for people with disabilities;
- are advertised for people who are currently overcrowded, or whose home is too big for their needs;
- are advertised for people assessed as being at risk of becoming homeless.
If you are homeless, you should contact your local authority who will be able to provide you with assistance. Click homelessness advice for local authority contact details.
You can still apply for a house or tell us about a change in circumstances on our online portal, MyHousing, or on Key to Choice if you are looking for housing in Edinburgh.
